Samuel is a student with a diagnosis on the autism spectrum. He joined school recently as a very anxious young man with difficulty relating to other children and understanding social boundaries. His issues around receptive language make it difficult for him to process what is being said to him.
The school have focussed on these issues with Samuel. They have taken the time to understand Samuel, his issues, what he likes and to get to know his family to ensure he has consistency between school and home.
Samuel’s family have already seen a difference in him as he is now happy to return to school each Monday and is no longer making excuses to be allowed to stay at home.
